Starting a business even at small scale requires huge sum of money. Usually, a person relies on his savings to meet cash requirements, which is not advisable. Savings should not be put at stake. One can use them to meet some future contingency. Some people prefer to borrow money from friends or family members, which may be an embarrassing phase for them. While, opposite is the case for unsecured loans, a borrower is not required to put any security against the loan and thus carry a higher rate of interest.

There are various lenders who can offer small business start up loan. Traditional lenders can offer you this loan, but it involves a lengthy process. A borrower has to personally approach these lenders and submit their loan application form by standing in the long queues. The whole loan process involves a lot of paper work and stress. Collect loan quotes from all the lenders and compare them on the basis of loan term and fees charged by the lender. It will help you find the best and cheap small business startup loan.

Lenders while lending small business startup loan keep few points in consideration. Foremost thing, they check the credit rating of the borrower. In case, you don’t know what your credit score is, you can get it evaluated by any of the recognized credit rating agencies. If your credit score is above 650, then relax, you will get over flooded by best loan offers from several lenders. But, if your credit score is below 620 then there can be trouble for you, you may have problem in borrowing the small business loan. The best way is to work on your credit score, try to improve it by paying the old debts and due payments. Better the credit score higher is the possibility of getting a small business start up loan at cheap rates and that too very quickly.

One more aspect lenders keep into consideration is a borrower’s business plan and its feasibility. A business plan must be formed by doing thorough market research, ensure that all the key areas are covered in the business plan, focus on the opportunity and make sure to give description about the risk involved in the business such as competitors. A comprehensive business plan made with thorough research will make it easier for you to borrow a small business startup loan at better rates.
Starting up a new business is not an easy task. An individual needs to have the passion to achieve success, dedication and adequate finance to prove his capability. Small business start up loan can work as an important source of finance for people who desire to win and want to make a mark in the world of business.

Effective Ways to Obtain Business Loans and Personal Loans

Receiving a small business loan will be based on numerous factors like the bank, the applicant’s credit record and the business plan. No perfect loan or bank exists so applicants will need to try hard to find the right bank and loan for their needs. The funds that people borrow to start a business could go toward buying various equipment, materials and advertising. Many people know everything about a business venture but do not have anything in their business bank account to get started. There are many steps they can take to obtain a business loan from a reliable source.

Even though many people are not fond of banks, they should understand the usefulness of these establishments that have helped countless people. Banks take a great deal of risk trying to manage loans and the biggest one they have involves repayment. Applicants who can prove they have a reduced risk of uncertainty will be able to find the loan rates they want.

Also, individuals with bad credit can still receive business loans but they will pay higher interest rates because of their credit problems. Anyone who is starting a business or trying to expand can benefit from this type of loan. Before the approval of the loan, lenders will look over details like the essence of the business, potential earnings and the number of partners or employees.

The first step to obtain a business loan is to develop a thorough, three-year business plan that includes earnings predictions for every month. This plan is a complete outline of the expected income and salary that will go into starting and continuing a business.

The next step is to research many local banks. Most banks are negatively affected by the recession so trying to get a loan from them may be hard or impossible. Business owners can set up a meeting with a bank manager to talk about the business in person. The bank will check the applicant’s credit during the application process. The bank will want to know what the applicants know and find out their amount of training and experience. Business owners are recommended to have a few years of experience in their industry or at least know exactly what they are doing.

Another step to obtain a small business loan is to develop a debt-to-income monthly ratio which is debt compared to income every month. This ratio helps applicants who need to prove to a bank that they can handle the expenses of a small business. Applicants will also need to provide recent or past income tax returns.

Some reasons why people are starting businesses are because jobs are hard to come by, people are getting laid off constantly and the world of the Internet is expanding. Negotiating with banks on obtaining a business loan can be simple or hard based on the preparedness of the applicants. They must have a business plan that is updated regularly because banks are more likely to give their money to businesses that are well-prepared for the long haul.

Small Business Loans And Commercial Real Estate Loans - Worst Case Scenario

Much like the perfect storm, the worst case scenario for borrowers seeking commercial real estate loans and small business loans is not a situation that most people should want to actually experience. There are several elements that we believe will almost always produce this serious but avoidable result when they are all present simultaneously. Understanding each of the issues should enable borrowers to avoid a potentially devastating commercial funding outcome.

We have prepared separate reports that discuss each underlying factor in detail. Here are the issues which we believe will usually result in a worst case scenario for commercial loans if all five are present:

(1) Using a lender which historically has an unacceptable track record for successfully completing commercial loans;

(2) Dealing with an inexperienced commercial finance advisor;

(3) Obtaining business financing that includes a recall option for the lender;

(4) Short-term financing in which a borrower is not also offered the opportunity to lengthen to a longer-term period; and

(5) Inappropriate and non-competitive loan terms.

There are likely to be many business financing scenarios where it will be impractical to avoid all of the issues described in the preceding paragraph. Our primary advice is to totally avoid circumstances where all five factors exist at the same time. A secondary recommendation is to also seek alternative financing for small business loans and commercial real estate loans when either of the first two elements are present.

It is clearly not our intent to raise a red flag without suggesting a path for minimizing the potentially problematic circumstances summarized above. It is important for business owners to secure commercial financing which is not impacted by the worst case conditions. Two points deserve special emphasis.

First is our observation that the worst case scenario for small business loans described above is totally avoidable. But if you want to avoid an obstacle, it is critical that you have a working understanding of what you are avoiding, what it looks like and any special techniques required to evade it. For example, if you are driving a car, it is common sense that you will not intentionally drive your vehicle over sharp pointed objects that are likely to puncture your tires.

With commercial real estate loans and commercial loans, the combination of the five factors noted previously in this article will typically produce an impact for small business funding that is equivalent to much worse than simply puncturing a tire. Unfortunately, without proper advice and knowledge, most business owners will not be prepared to recognize the appropriate warning signs for avoiding business financing hazards.

Our second point to emphasize is that small business loans are more complex than most borrowers realize. There are a number of additional serious commercial funding obstacles beyond those noted in this brief article. Because of this, it is important for commercial borrowers not to narrowly focus on the factors included in the worst case scenario discussed here and simply avoid these specific issues. A comprehensive approach to working capital management should incorporate a balanced analysis of both the worst case aspects and other critical business finance terms.

Unsecured Business Loans: Financial Loans For Your Business Needs

When an entrepreneur decides to give concrete shape to his visions and starts off his own business venture, he needs the substantial inputs of various resources, financial resources being one of these critical inputs. However, not every individual has the capacity to invest his own funds into business and therefore, financial loans for business form the most feasible way of financing the needs of such a business. Now, if a tenant wants to start his business and needs substantial loans to fund the venture, he might find it difficult to arrange for loans, as he does not own the required security to be placed as a collateral. Lenders in the financial market, have therefore, introduced the unsecured business loans for tenants who require funding for their business as well as for homeowners who do not wish to place any collateral against the loan.

Any business needs the support of fixed capital and working capital to grow and prosper and such capital needs can be provided by the unsecured business loans. However, as these unsecured business loans do not require any collateral against the loan, they are considered to be a high risk category for the lender. The lender therefore, charges a higher rate of interest to insure him against the potential loss of principal loan amount, in case of non repayment or delayed repayment. The borrower can still hope to secure a beneficial deal, if compares the various offer and rates available in the market and accordingly select a reliable lender giving him the best deal on loans for business purpose.

The unsecured business loans can also be applied for by an individual with a poor credit history, as the lender does not require credit verification for loan approval, in most cases. The loan application, approval and transfer are simple and conducted online by most lenders in the financial market. As most lenders have an online website, an applicant only needs to fill up an online application form with basic personal and financial details to apply for the loan. Once such details have been verified, the loan approval decision is instantly given by the lender. In many cases, the borrower does not require placing a proof of income in order to get approval for the loans, and hence, this is feasible method of raising funds for any business owner or self employed individual who does not have audited accounts to show any proof of income.

Many lenders offer special deals and discounts for women entrepreneurs, minorities and small business or home business owners and hence, one should select the unsecured business loans, only after careful consideration of the offers available with the lender. Once a suitable lender and loan have been selected, it is easy to provide the necessary financial resources for fixed or working capital of a business, through these convenient loans. So, be it purchase of plant and machinery, land or raw materials or payment of daily wages to laborers or salaries to employees, a business can meet all its financial needs easily with these quick and easy financial loans.

Small Business Startup Loans - The Charge Placed on Business Loans

There is no form of loan in which rates of interests are not charged on it. However, the rate which you pay on the loan will vary with the type of loan and the lender providing the loan. Every business owner should be principally concerned about the rates charged on the loan. That is why it is always advisable to go in for loans which the interest can easily be handled or those that will not call for fines. The rate of interest will however be determined by the amount of interest over the sum borrowed. This is what will normally be used to settle on the rate of interests that you will have to pay.

Apart from the above method of settling on the amount of interest, there are also many aspects that will have an effect on what you will finally pay as interests. These will take into account the total sum which you need from the lender, the financial record of your business, the security to guarantee payment of the loan, how you intend to pay pack the loan and your credit score.

How Will These Have A Bearing On The Rates You Pay As Interests?

The principal that you have to borrow:

Every reasonable business owner must know that the total sum which he or she wants to borrow will determine what he or she has to pay as interest on that loan. It is normal that a loan with a high sum will also call for a higher interest rate. This will however depend on the credit score of the borrower or if there has been a favorable financial relationship between the lender and the borrower. In some cases, the lender will also determine your rate of interest by the type of security which you present. If the current or future market situation may pose difficulties in trading off the security in case of failure to repay the loan, the rate of interest will also be high.

What you provide as security and how you are going to repay the loan:

In almost every case, what you provide a guarantee to secure the loan will be used to determine that rate you are liable to pay as interest. You can either take out a secured or an unsecured loan. If you opt for an unsecured loan, you must know that the rates which you will be liable to pay as interest will be higher that that for a secured loan. Remember that it is the duty of care of the lender to take reasonable steps to ensure that the loan is paid back in full. Also remember that the loan can be fixed or variable and this will all depend on the reason for the loan.

The manner in which you propose to pay back the loan will also determine that amount of interest you are going to pay. You should watch out on the manner in which you are going to pay back the loan. In some cases, you may be given just a period to complete the initial sum plus the interests. In another cases, you will be required to make periodic payments. These will all depend on what you intend to use the loan for and how that loan is being managed. Remember that improper management of the loan may cause you to pay fines on the loan.

The credit score of the business will also determine your access to getting the loan and the rate you are going to pay as interest. If you have a positive score in borrowing, handling and paying back on time, you stand a higher chance of getting a loan. Keep in mind that lenders often work in connection with each other and your credit rating will be made available to all of them.

Secured Business Loan – Providing A Conducive Atmosphere For Business Growth

By: Andrew Baker

The amounts that a business will need as a business loan will generally be large. Unless, it is a bank that has utmost confidence on the borrowing enterprise, most banks and financial institutions will balk at the idea of lending a large sum to enterprises without any guarantee. This explains the genesis of secured business loans. A secured business loan is one where the borrowing enterprise pledges loan repayment by offering loan provider a lien of certain asset/ assets.

Borrowers do get business loans without having to pledge any such lien to the loan provider. These are known as unsecured business loan. However, such opportunities are not easily available. And if they are, the terms on which they come are very expensive. The APR that borrowers of the latter category will have to shell is many percentage points more than the secured business loan borrowers.

Would you, as a borrower of business loan, unnecessarily increase the cost of finance to your business, knowing well that the assets are being pledged and not sold out? The assets pledged in secured business loans are available for use by the borrower. It is only when the loan is not paid in full that the loan provider undertakes to repossess the asset forming collateral. Is it that the creditors of unsecured loan do not demand repayment if the borrower doesn’t pay. In this case, the loan provider has to demand repayment. Since they do not have a direct stake on any asset of the borrowing enterprise, they will seek support from the courts in the recovery process. Often the borrower has to cough up the amount. Additionally, the borrower’s credit history is tarnished because of these proceedings.

Secured business loans, thus is the safest bet for both the borrowing entrepreneur and the loan providers. Loans in this category will depend more on the value of collateral and the lending organisation chosen. Maximum amount can be had through a secured business loan.

Since the secured business loan has been used specially for use in business, one is able to better mould the business loan. One can use the business loan in a variety of purposes. Ranging from the daily requirements in the form of working capital, the business loan can also be used for expansion purposes.

Certain loan providers would insist on the borrowing organisation to fulfil certain preconditions in order to approve the loan application. Certain preconditions form standing orders that are applicable for the entire term of the secured business loans. For instance, loan provider will stipulate that the debt- equity ratio (the ratio of debt to equity in the capital) be kept to a particular level. Such preconditions amount to reduction in entrepreneur’s control over his business. Lender may demand immediate settlement of the secured business loan if at anytime the condition is not met. The borrowing enterprise must discuss well with experts about the implications of such clauses, before consenting to loan deals.

As against individuals who would have to repay the loan through fixed monthly or quarterly instalment, entrepreneurs get to repay the loan through repayments that are flexible. Entrepreneurs, owing to their fluctuating income structure, get to pay through instalments that are not fixed. In periods when the business is going strong, the entrepreneur will pay a major part of the loan. This will be used as a pretext to smaller payments or payment holidays, as the case may be.

Online processing of loans has caught up with secured business loans as it has with the personal loans. An entrepreneur planning to draw a secured business loan shall simply fill up the loan details and initiate the process of approval. The web technology is used by a few borrowers to compare between a number of loan deals available. The loan providers short-listed are requested to send a loan quote defining the terms of the secured business loan. This is a very important and effective technique of drawing information about the pros and cons of loans.

Proper planning must precede any decision to draw a secured business loan. The business not only has an asset on stake, it is also the reputation of the enterprise that is tarnished when the business does not pay in full. Since a business is always in need of finance, it cannot afford to lose on reputation. This will make things difficult when the enterprise is again in need of loans. They will have to do with business loans on stricter terms because of the bad credit history. Businesses must thus decide the use or need of secured business loan beforehand.

Commercial Business Loan, Small Business Startup Loan

By: Ryan Mapes

Commercial business loan, how do you avoid the hidden costs?

As an entrepreneur, you may feel like the search for funding is never ending. Perhaps you are considering closing a loan in the near future. Beware that hidden loan costs often make a loan package appear much less attractive than you originally thought. Whether or not you are in that process of getting a commercial business loan now, it is important to know what costs can be avoided.

The first step in the process of avoiding exorbitant or hidden fees is simple: do some research. Be sure that the lender you are considering is reputable, and do not hesitate to ask for references. If you are still wary of a lender, avoid them altogether.

Also make sure you know your credit position and clear up any mistakes. Taking the time to check this before finding out too late that your credit report prevented you from getting a commercial business loan is well worth the effort. Once you have a good handle on your credit position, do not be afraid to shop around. Negotiation can and does happen, especially if lenders are competing for your business.

Even if you are pressed for money, you could end up getting yourself into an even worse situation if you rush into the commercial business loan process without sufficient preparation. Get a lawyer to review your documents if you want to be sure that you are not getting a bad deal.

So what exactly should you watch for carefully in the paperwork? Start by reading every word in the contract. If something looks unfamiliar or you do not understand, be sure to ask for clarification. Look out for extra fees that had not been discussed previously. Many times insurance companies make a large part of their profit with extra fees that could be avoided, and unscrupulous companies may be tempted to add more fees in the contract hoping you will not notice.

Most additional fees come in three types: broker and lender fees, third party fees, and government fees.

Broker/Lender fees: These are the fees charged by your broker that they may be most willing to negotiate. Administrative fees, processing fees, and document preparation fees all fall in this category. If the competition for your business is high, you may be able to negotiate these fees to your advantage.

Third party fees: Lenders sometimes pass on the fees for services like notarizing, title work, appraisals, and inspections to you. Overnight delivery fees and courier fees can add up as well. All of these fees are negotiable.

Government fees: Any fees required by the government with a commercial business loan transaction are non-negotiable, and you do not have a choice in paying them if you want the loan.

These fees underscore the importance of not assuming anything about the terms of a deal. Take only what is stated explicitly in the contract as your agreement. For example, you should be aware of large pre-payment penalty fees (sometimes called redemption fees) or refinancing packages at lower rates—sometimes refinancing is actually more expensive in the end.

Also, be sure to know the frequency of interest calculation. Daily interest will add much more quickly than monthly interest, for example.

GUARANTEED FEES

Some lenders will provide you a good faith estimate of fees before the underwriting process, but this leaves you open to more fees later. Doing business with a lender that guarantees their fees is the easiest way to make sure you do not get hit with lots of unexpected costs when you finalize a commercial business loan. It will also give you an immediate, accurate picture of what the loan will really cost.

Overview of Business Cash Advance and Small Business Loan Options For Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs

By: Daljeet S. Sidhu

Getting the right business funding is critical for business owners to establish, renovate or expand their business. One can have an array of choices for raising the capital necessary for running and growing a business. However not all loans are suitable for every business owner. The key then is to evaluate your business situation and then approach suitable lenders. If they are satisfied with your capability to pay back the loan, they would be willing to lend with a set of terms and conditions that should be acceptable to you as well.

However, you must pay attention to detail, as there are few options at your disposal when it comes to getting a loan. The foremost step is to take stock of your current financial position and ask yourself few important questions before approaching a lender.

1. You need to be sure about the amount you want for your business. Having a business plan with the financial model will be helpful in estimating the amount. If you are a business start-up then it is prudent to list all expenses you think you would incur in the initial months of your business operation.

2. Once you know the amount you actually need for your business, outline your spending plan for the lenders. Typical small business will use the money to hire employees, advertise, buy equipment, buy real estate, or to pay off an outstanding debt.

3. You also need to lay out a repayment plan. Your financial statements and cash flow projections will come in handy to prove that yours is a profitable business and you would be able to pay back the loan in a timely fashion.

4. There is a possibility that you will be denied the loan. What would you do then? You will have to accept rejection gracefully so that you come across as a determined personality and not be easily discouraged.

There are many avenues to get a loan. Some of them are as follows:

Small business loans: This remains the most common way to get funding for your business. You can get such a loan from various sources, such as, credit unions, banks, small business associations or even from an angel investor. To get a small business loan you will have to furnish the business plan, your credit history and other relevant information.

Business or Merchant cash advance: This loan is sanctioned based on potential credit card sales and is perfect for the small and midsized business who find it difficult to get a loan approved from leasing companies or banks. The requirement for this loan is a credit card processing agreement with the funding merchant.

Unsecured business loans: Financial institutions offer such loans without securing the borrowers asset and are provided in many packages such as credit card debt, personal loans, credit facilities, overdraft facilities, lines of credit and corporate bonds. Interest rates on such loans can be in double digits if your credit score is less than perfect.

Uphold Ample Cash Flow In Business Through Short Term Business Loan

By: Michael Brian

Every business whether big or small, suffers from financial crisis. This inappropriate flow of income hampers the working of the business. The common example can be illustrated through the seasonal product. Like, if a business is dealing in the seasonal product, the flow of income will appropriate in the seasonal month but, what about the months in which there is no dealing of such products. So, in order to cope up with such situations and for the smooth working of business, most of the time the businesses need finances. These short term finances are available in the market in the form of short term business loan.

Short term business loan are taken for short period. And their repayment period varies from 90 days to 3 years. Short term business loan are considered as the best way to raise the short term capital for business. They are appropriate for both new and existing business. The amount which a person borrows basically depends on the needs of an individual business. Lender also prefer to grant short term loans as the risk involved in them is much lower than the long term loans.

Generally seen, before granting the short term loan, the lender thoroughly checks the credit status and flow of income of the borrower. And if the person has sufficient asset and provides collateral against an amount, it helps the borrower in getting the loan approved faster. In such short term business loan, the lender expects that as soon as there is proper flow of funds, the borrower should repay the loan.

Short terms loans carry high interest rate, but they are fixed and they do not fluctuate due to the changes in the market forces. But providing collateral helps to lower the rate of interest and also provides favorable terms and conditions.

If we think practically, most the person engaged in business doesn’t have perfect credit score. But, they are not required to think about this fact. They can still avail the short term business loan to overcome their business financial crisis. For this purpose the person has to make research with regards to the lender providing such bad credit loans.

Finally, before the person decides to avail loan, he must ask himself certain question. which will help him to determine his needs.

• Is the need urgent?

• Can business run without taking loan also?

• How much risk is involved in choosing this source of finance?

• Affordability?

After considering these questions, the person must only come to the decision of taking a loan.

A Small Business Loan Alternative for your Growing Business

by: Chris Lontok

Financing a small business can be a difficult job if no one is willing to spend money on what you’re selling. But in order to stay afloat, business owners go for the option of applying for small business loans. A business loan can give you more leeway to buy new supplies, pay off debts, or expand your business.

However, more banks nowadays are enforcing stricter rules and guidelines for giving out business loans. Policies on approval of small business loans are now less lenient and some banks have even demanded additional requirements.

A bad credit history is one important criterion for the approval of a business loan. Like every other bank or lending institution, risk factors have to be taken into consideration before they hand you their money. The credit card services you have availed and how you paid these services are very important information for these companies because it will be their basis on the approval (or disapproval) of your request, and the rate of interest they can give you. You need at least 700 points to securely get approved.

Fortunately, there is now an easier way to get a small business loan without the fear of your own credit card history. Getting a business cash advance is a faster and less stressful option for a business loan. A business cash advance is a lending service offered to business owners who accept credit cards as payment for their goods or services. This alternative form of business loan has a shorter processing time and has lesser requirements than a bank loan. This type of small business loan is quite perfect for those emergency situations where you need a large sum of money, fast. Approval of a business cash advance usually only takes 24 to 72 hours, depending on the company. Upon approval, the money is automatically transferred to your personal account. This fast-paced business loan is usually applied for online, which is very convenient.

The requirements are quite similar to those of most lending institutions, but your credit history would not be put under strict reviews. In fact, unlike business loans from the bank, bad credit history is not that big of a deal for cash advance providers. You only need to be of legal age, have a registered business in the US, have a small business that subscribes to credit card services for payment, and have been in business for at least a year.

The payment terms for a business cash advance are, of course, different from that of a business loan from the bank. But in general, the payment terms for this lending service will greatly depend on the amount of money you will be borrowing. The higher the amount, the longer time you’ll have to pay it off. But note that interests tend to be a bit higher for this type of business loan. For banks and other big lenders, payment terms for business loans can be paid off in longer terms, usually, over a year or more. Small business loans payment in banks usually does not exceed five years.

Payment for this type of business loan can be done in one single drop or monthly. It all depends on your capability to pay, and the amount of money you borrowed. The payment terms will usually require you to pay the cash advance company each month and you will get the payment structure with the amount that they expect you to pay every month. If you can afford to pay it off all at once, the better.

Cash Advance as a Small Business Loans

by: Chris Lontok

Every business loan is a risk for both the lender and the borrower. A promising business gives you the best chances of having your business loan request granted.

Lenders will usually look at your gross annual sales and revenues, credit score, checking account balances, profitability, and length of time you’ve been in business. For newbies in the business world, expect to be asked intensively about your business plans.

Your history with credit card services is a main factor for lenders. Credit information they usually look for are personal credit card debt, personal loans, liquid assets, real estate holdings, tax returns, and personal financial statements. Your personal spending habits will also be an issue, including how you use credit card services and instalment debt. If you have a good track record of all of these, then you won’t have any problems with getting you business loan approved. But what if you have bad credit history? What alternatives do you have?

The answer is getting a business cash advance in place of a small business loan.

A business cash advance is the alterative option for business owners who need emergency funding. It is ideal for business owners subscribed to credit card services and/or charge cards. Monthly payment this type of business loan is done through batched credit card sales.

Approval for this type of small business loan takes a shorter amount of time and bad credit scores won’t be too much of an issue. The processing time for cash advance application is from 24 tp72 hours only. Some cash advance lenders can lend as much as $2500 to $300,000, depending on their evaluation.

Cash advance as a small business loan is very likely to get approved as long as you pass the basic requirements for the advance. First, you’re business should have been operational for at least a year. Your company should also at least have profits of $4000 in credit card processes per month.

The difference between a business cash advance and the usual small business loan are:

(1) A business cash advance does not require a detailed financial statement. Conventional business loans require 2-3 years worth of financial statements.

(2) Audited tax returns are not required for cash advances. Business loans from banks do.

(3) You only need to provide a guarantee against fraud or intervention.

(4) Application fees are not always required for this alternative business loan.

(5)No need for high credit scores. You only need to be subscribed to credit card services.

(6) Your collateral does not have to be all of your business assets.

(7) You can opt for a flexible monthly payment.

Cash advance as a business loan allows you to do almost anything for your business. You can pay taxes or debts, buy supplies, pay your employees, make repairs or remodelling, inventory, make new marketing and promotion materials, and expand your business establishment.

The idea behind cash advance repayment is not like the payment process for a small business loan. Repayment is made by automatically debiting an agreed percentage of your credit card sales every time you batch. There are no fixed payment schedules. You will only be able to pay when you’re customers pay.

Cash advance as a small business loan is very ideal for restaurant owners, retailers, medical clinics, and other new industries. Staying afloat for small business is harder, especially with the recession, and a cash advance is a quick solution for those emergency financial situations. After all, maintaining continuous cash flow for young establishments is difficult. With cash advance as an alternative business loan, you can get cash sooner and pay your loan easier.

Getting Small Business Loans with No Collateral in this Recession

by: Chris Lontok

The global financial crisis has made it quite difficult for companies, especially small businesses, to get business loans. Ironically, it is also in this situation that smaller companies often need additional capital infusion to boost income. You may need to get small business loans to acquire a better business location, construct a new building, renovate your premises, pay for new equipment, fixtures or furniture or increase inventory and working capital.

Most Small Business Loans Require Collateral

To get business loans, even small business loans, is a major challenge.

First you need to identify which among the many types of small business loans you need. Small business loans ranging from $5,000.00 to $35,000.00 are called micro loans. For larger needs, such as for the acquisition of land, buildings and other major fixed assets, development financing is what you should find. There are also import export loans as well as franchise financing. Do your research to find out if you are qualified for small business loans guaranteed by the U.S. Small Business Administration or SBA.

Any of these small business loans will require extensive preparations and paperwork. As a small business owner, you will need to prove your credit worthiness through a personal credit history report. Lenders will also require a business plan which includes your credentials as the business owner, your company financial statements, business assets and an analysis of your market. All of these should be packaged in a professional loan proposal which presents how the loaned amount will be used to strengthen the business and how you intend to repay the loan. Most of all, you need to present your loan collateral – the assets you will put up to secure the loan.

Quick and Easy Small Business Loans with No Collateral

For smaller acquisitions or day to day business needs, there is a way for entrepreneurs to get small business loans easily and quickly with no collateral. This is through merchant services.

Merchant services provide credit card services to businesses. This enables them to accept and process payments through credit cards or debit cards either through face to face purchases, online transactions, or even by phone or fax. Merchant service providers supply terminal equipment for card swiping, as well as the necessary software and high speed IP solutions.

Most businesses need credit card services since consumers routinely pay for goods and services through credit cards and debit cards these days. If your business has not taken this step yet, you may have been missing out on more than half of your income potential.

These same merchant services also provide the solution for your small business loans. Collateral-free loans can be availed of through their cash advances, with the loan amount computation based on the monthly credit card revenue your business generates. Credit card sales requirements may be as low as $3,000.00 a month. You will not be asked for collateral since your future revenue is your collateral.

The best types of merchant cash advances do not require fixed monthly payments nor do they impose deadlines on loan payment. A certain percentage is instead deducted automatically from your credit card revenue each month to go towards loan payment. This way, you never have to worry about loan amortization.

Once your cash advance has been fully paid, you may apply for another one. It is like having a revolving credit line. Make sure that you compare the terms of several merchant service providers, though, and read the fine print on contracts. There are so many merchant service providers competing for your business that you’ll surely find one that fits your needs.

Where To Get Bad Credit Small Business Loans: Options For Working Capital Loans

by: Neal Coxworth

Many small businesses have been hurt by the economic crisis of the last two years. For many retailers and small businesses, this has meant procrastinating vendor bills, tapping into savings or other strategies to try and make it until business conditions get better. While the best choice for any small business is always a commercial bank loan guaranteed by the SBA, the reality is that most businesses will not be approved for this sort of loan in today's difficult credit environment.

For these retail businesses, their main choice for bad credit small business loans was to get a merchant cash advance from their credit card payments processor. These cash advances are not true loans, but rather, cash advances based on future credit card receivables. Such advances are almost always characterized by factor (interest) rates as high 50%, high upfront fees, high hold-back (payment) rates, and the stipulation to switch credit card processors and/or pay for equipment.

Over time, these merchant cash advances can become a debilitating burden to businesses that use them, as they watch a large percentage of their daily sales volume go to paying back the advance and associated interest.

Now there is a much more cost effective way for businesses to obtain bad credit small business loans. This new type of business loan, called credit card receivable financing, is characterized by:

Rates that are 50-80% lower than a Merchant Cash advance

No Upfront charges.

No requirement to switch credit card processors

No stipulation to buy any equipment whatsoever.

A true business loan that builds positive credit for the future, unlike a cash advance

Owner credit scores as low as 550. Maximum loan of $500,000

Approvals in 48 hours, fundings in 7 to 10 days. Available in all 50 states.

In today's economic environment, small businesses need a way to obtain the capital they need without being taken unfair advantage of by cash advance companies looking to reap unfair profits. Unsecured Business Loan - Getting Working Capital Loans

by: Neal Coxworth

With many business owners hunting for working capital, an unsecured business loan appears like an enticing offer. Indeed, the Internet is overflowing with ads, sites and plain old come-on's for these types of loans. However, it is crucial to understand these offers for exactly what they are.

First of all it is important to understand the common definition of "unsecured" in the context of a loan. A secured loan is usually one that has a lien or some type of legal lien placed upon some type of hard assets possessed by the borrower. An example would be a car loan or a mortgage. The "security interest" for the lender is that if you do not pay, the lender will retrieve your car or house. In this case, the lender has "legal recourse", and can use the legal system to either force repayment, or seize the secured assets ( car or house in our example) if the borrower cannot make payments.

In both these examples, the borrower has the loan secured against personal assets and the loan is made based off of personal credit and income. An unsecured loan by definition, does not have a lien placed on assets held by the applicant or borrower. The loan is made only on the strength of the borrowers credit track record and their verifiable income.

In the context of business working capital loans, many offers are advertised as "unsecured" solely because these types of loans or cash advances do not secure the loan against the PERSONAL assets of the business owner. Technically, then, this loan is unsecured. If the loan is truly unsecured against both the personal assets of the business owner, and the business itself, then the loan amount usually will be very low, generally under $7500 and much lower if the credit track record has problems.

However, many merchant cash advance lenders will market unregulated cash advances as "unsecured". In reality, these types of advances, which have no upper limit on the rate being charged, usually do have a security interest against the assets of the business, not the business owner. They accomplish this by filing a UCC (uniform commercial code) lien against the business. This means if the business does not pay the loan as agreed and the business is sold, transferred or liquidated, the merchant cash advance lender has a right to the proceeds to satisfy the unpaid debt before the business owner does.

Such advances are usually made based on the future credit card receivables of the business and often come with restrictions attached, such as requiring the merchant to switch payment processors, buy equipment, and pay high upfront fees. The unregulated "cash advance" is really a sales tool to force further purchases or concessions by the owner in exchange for a high rate advance.

In conclusion, if you are business owner {searching-looking- for an unsecured business loan and the amount you are requesting is over $5000 with less than perfect credit, chances are you will not find it easily, if at all. However, there is a much more efficient option for those business owners who are seeking quick working capital up to $500,000 at rates that are 50% less than a merchant cash advance with no upfront fees and no requirement to switch processors. SBA Loan Programs-Which One Fits Your Business?

by: Neal Coxworth

SBA loan programs have been around for a long time, awhile. Long ago, In the past, the government figured out that the key to a strong economy and a prosperous nation was to nurture small businesses with affordable capital options that will help them grow larger and support more jobs and a larger tax base. Thus, the Small Business Administration was tasked with providing this capital.

A crucial point to remember is that the SBA does not actually disburse the funds. The funds are in actuality provided by participating commercial banks and the loans are guaranteed by the SBA against default. In order to have this government guarantee, the banks lending the money must conform to SBA mandated guidelines that determine which applicants receive the loan and which do not..

The great part about these loan programs is their flexibility and favorable interest rates. The difficult part is the amount of documentation and the time frame necessary to close them, sometimes going as long as 120 days or more. In the last two years, a larger problem has been approvals, as the credit crisis has severely restricted the amount of small business loans being made. Below are a few of the major SBA loan programs offered by participating banks nationwide.

SBA 7a Loan- This really is several different types of 7a loans grouped under this main heading. This is the SBA's most popular and widely used program. Some key aspects of this loan program that prospective borrowers need to know pertain to the "size standards", "use of funds" and acceptable business types. Far too lengthy to go into here, the important thing to know is that the SBA mandates that a company be of a certain size, for a certain industry. This is known as acceptable use. Examples of acceptable uses of funds include purchasing land or buildings, acquiring equipment, long term working capital or restructuring existing debt, within certain limits.

SBA Express - This is a small startup loan designed to expedite the loan funding process and is technically a type of SBA 7a loan. This is targeted toward certain groups of business owners and usually has a lower loan amount. The goal with this type of loan is to get the prospective borrower an answer within 36 hours.

Micro Loan program - Gives amounts of $35000 or less to qualified applicants for working capital. Not for profit businesses are also welcomed to apply for this type of loan.

CDC/504 Loan- This a longer term loan designed to purchase major fixed assets, such as buildings and equipment. The loan works in conjunction with a "certified development company" that will usually be the actual distributor of these funds to the end user once the loan has been approved within SBA mandated guidelines. SBA business size standards do apply due to the larger loan amounts.

For most small business seeking SBA loan programs, the SBA 7a and the SBA express will probably meet their needs. However, if you are needs are greater, you should go directly to the SBA website and read up, as there is a wealth of information that needs to be carefully considered prior to applying.

Obtaining Bad Credit Business Loans - Where Small Business Gets Working Capital

by: Neal Coxworth

The past two years has been devastating for retailers and it makes getting bad credit small business loans difficult. Many owners are grappling with bad credit caused by the economic downturn. This downturn left many business owners delaying bills, pulling money from their savings and other tactics to keep their business afloat until things improved. When you are a small business, the best loan type to get is an SBA loan. In today's highly restricted credit market, many small businesses will not be approved for this loan.

Before retailers had the choice to apply for new, more cost effective option, their primary method to deal with bad credit was to get an advance from the credit card processing company. These may seem like loans but are in fact unregulated cash advances that come with hefty interest rates. These advances have interest tacked on at rates higher than 50%, they usually have costly upfront fees, crippling daily payment amounts, and will come with a requirement to switch card companies and/or purchase equipment.

In this credit restricted environment the proliferation of cash advances has increased. Many times, these cash advances will crush the business that participated under financial burden. These businesses would see a large part of their net income go to these companies to pay for interest and high holdback or payment rates.

There are currently much more cost-effective bad credit small business loans. These loans are a new type and are formally called creditcard receivable financing, are characterized by:

Rates at least half that of a merchant cash advance or lower.

No fees upfront.

No pressure or requirement to switch card processors

No requirement to buyany forms of equipment.

This is areal business loan and will build positive credit, unlike a Merchant Cash Advance.

Even if you have a credit score as low as 550 you can get a max loan of $500,000.

Approved within 48 hours of applying, get funded in 7 - 10 days, and available in every one of the 50 United States

Some bad credit small business loans are much more cost effective than others. Today's economy is tough and small businesses need to know how to get the capital that they need without being taken advantage of by companies looking to make a quick, unfair profit at the long-term expense of the business.

Small Business Loan Programs- Does The New Obama Bill Help?

by: Neal Coxworth

At the end of September, Congress gave President Obama a bill theoretically crafted to help small business loan programs and small business lending. The bill, which had been enthusiastically contested by Republicans throughout the year, was a dramatically pared down version of a proposed bill at the beginning of 2010.

The real question is, does this bill really help small business get the working capital they need? In theory, the bill nurtures small business lending via the Small Business Administration guaranteed loan programs. Normally, these programs guarantee anywhere from 50-70% of a small business loan against default for the lending institution that makes the loan. The new bill raises this guarantee to 90% in some cases, in theory lowering the risk of default and putting community banks in a better position to take on these loans.

However, whether this helps or not is a matter of heated discussion. The problem is not that banks do not have the capital to lend. With all the government stimulus that has been directed at the banking system, banks are flush with cash. The problem is really one of perception, attitude, and outright hard facts. Whereas three years ago, banks were lending with impunity and making bad loans to business, they have now over-corrected, obviously made cautious by the harsh default rates and bank failures of the last few years. It is a classic '"standoff" situation, where everyone from large banks, community banks, businesses and consumers are waiting to see who will make the first move in beginning to loosen loan approval requirements and spending habits.

Likewise, businesses are waiting to see when consumers will feel confident enough to buy the goods and services that their businesses have to offer. Consumers are waiting to see when there financial situation will stabilize enough to begin their spending. So in the meantime, everybody continues to wait, and the uncertainty drags on. Unfortunately, no 'small business" bill that can fully address this perception.

Making it easier to utilize small business loan programs and making it less risky for banks to lend is one thing, but the government cannot force banks to make loans to business. Added to this fact is that banks are more concerned of ever over tight oversight that has been imposed since the financial crisis began, worried that even a small uptick in defaults will result in federal regulators sitting in their offices for months on end, sifting through every detail of operations in effort to find wrongdoing or bad management.

The bill also provides a series of targeted tax breaks for small businesses, specifically directed at removing payroll taxes for hiring new workers, the ability for Alternative Minimum Tax businesses to claim the R &D tax credit, and tax cuts for restaurant owners and other small businesses who chose to renovate or build new facilities. Certainly tax cuts are always welcome, but in this case they only really apply if a business is planning to spend additional money on hiring, expanding or doing R &D.

Small Business Loan programs are not in short supply. What is in short supply is the proper volume of customers to make approval for such programs a reality for small business seeking working capital. Until the perception of risk changes for consumers, this problem will be a difficult one to alleviate, no matter how many pieces of legislation are passed

How To Get A Working Capital Loan If Business Credit Is Damaged

by: Neal Coxworth

A lot of small and medium sized businesses and retailers have discovered themselves in a pinch of circumstances regarding finding a working capital loan to fund their expansion, advertising, or just continuing to remain paying necessities like operations and payroll.

If you ask the Small Business Administration (SBA), the businesses in need of investment capitol can go directly to the SBA, or they can apply for a loan from the major banks that this agency will guarantee loans with. SBA backed loans are tailored for small or medium sized businesses and will usually have the best rates and terms. Businesses owners need to understand that this loan is not a quick fix solution. The processing of the loan may take several months to complete. The approval of such loans in this recently restricted credit environment is usually difficult unless you are one of the most credit worthy business owners.

If you own a business that has made an investment in numerous physical assets such as computers, industrial equipment, and office furniture can get secured loans and use these valuable assets as collateral. This loan is secured and therefore the credit of this business or owner may not be a primary qualifier like in the SBA working capital loan.

These loans are typically structured to be longer term like an auto loan spanning three, five, or seven years. There are many factors that the interest rates on these loans will vary upon. These factors may include (but are not limited to) the kind of equipment you have secured against, the kind of business, and other miscellaneous factors. If you get this type of loan, you are agreeing to let the lender repossess your loan against equipment if the business is closed or liquidated before full payment is made. If you are looking into getting this type of funding for your business, contact a loan broker.

If you accept credit cards and are unable to get funding through the bank, a CCRF (Credit Card Receivable) loan can be the answer. This kind of financial assistance is based on the businesses past credit card receipts. This kind of assistance is similar in nature to a merchant cash advance. These interest rates are higher than a SBA loan but rates are (overall) lower by 50-80% over a merchant cash advance. These loans have no additional or hidden requirements like buying a new terminal or switching card processors. You can own a business maintaining a minimum owner credit score as low as 550 and still be approved.

If you are looking into a working capital loan, you want to review every option for your business. The recommendations listed give a few options that are available for different types of businesses

Where To Get A Loan For Business: Even If The Bank Says "No"

by: Neal Coxworth

It has been extremely difficult in the last few years for business owners to get a loan for business. Many businesses with good credit, financials, and business plans still can get denied credit for the best SBA backed loans are larger commercial banks, credit unions or savings and loans.

This leaves many businesses to search for new options when they may never have had to in the past. A commercial mortgage broker or commercial loan broker is always a good place to check. They may have options for those entrepreneurs who own their property or have a lot of equipment associated with their business. Either one or both can be used as collateral for a financing. However, these loans may also take upwards of 3 months or more to fund and require extensive documentation and appraisals, so be aware of this time constraint before trying this option.

For those businesses that accept credit cards, a merchant cash advance may be a quick option that requires little documentation and can fund quickly, often in a week or less. While these merchant cash "advances" are convenient and can often help businesses in a variety of difficult credit situations, it is important to remember that often they can have high upfront fees, and interest rates that exceed 50%. Additionally, they also come with heavy-handed requirements to switch credit card processors or purchase new swipe equipment. Also, because they are not technically loans, but cash advances, there is no legal limit to the interest rates and fees being charged.

There is another option for businesses that accept credit cards and may have difficult credit and still need to get a loan for business. This option is characterized by:

Interest rates that are 50-80% lower than a merchant cash advance

No upfront fees

No requirement to buy equipment

No requirement to switch processors

Owner credit scores down to 550. Maximum loan amount of $500,000

a true, regulated business loan that can build positive credit history, unlike a merchant cash advance.

While it may be harder for retail owners to get a loan for business, there are cost-effective options out there for businesses that need working capital but cannot meet the restrictive lending requirements of the Small Business Administration or their local bank. The important point to remember is that not all options are the same, and some may affect the long term health of the business in unanticipated ways.

Loans To Small Businesses- The SBA Business Loan

by: Neal Coxworth

The SBA has many loans to small businesses. One of the most popular SBA business loan programs is the SBA CDC/504 program. The other is the SBA 7(a) program. Businesses who are interested in applying at their local bank or non-bank lender need to know as much as possible about what will be required prior to applying so they can be prepared. Below you will see the different requirements and information regarding this small business loan.

Loan Program- SBA CDC/504

Target Businesses/Borrowers For this Program-This program is designed for those small businesses that are already established and operating at a profit. The business cannot exceed a "tangible" net worth of $7.5mm to be eligible for this program and cannot exceed a net income of $2.5mm for the most recent two years. The purpose of this loan is long-term economic development within a community. The program is geared toward those businesses with "brick and mortar" operations with long term, fixed rate funding. CDC's are certified development companies that work within a specific, designated community to help provide business financing along with the SBA and SBA approved lenders within that community.

Use of Funds- The SBA governs how the proceeds from any loan disbursed through this program. Below are some of these requirements.

Purchase of land or improvements to existing structures including buildings, landscaping, street improvements, etc

Construction of new facilities or improvement of existing facilities related directly to the business.

Purchase of long-term machinery used in the business

Maximum Loan Amounts- The maximum loan amounts can vary from $1.5mm to $4.0mm. Generally speaking, loan amounts rise if a project meets specific public policy goals such as community revitalization, job creation or community redevelopment of a business district, minority ownership, etc. See the SBA site for full details. Interest rates are pegged to a specified amount above US treasuries.

Credit Criteria- A personal guarantee by all principals with all supporting documentation is mandatory. (see above under 'Types of Documentation Needed') Additionally, the SBA will place a lien on the project being financed as collateral. This lien remains in force until the loan is paid.
